I’m feeling a little pretty for a couple reasons. First of all, has anyone noticed the blog’s makeover? I figured it’s a new year and I have a few blogging goals that I thought would be benefited by a new design as well. I hope that you find you like it more and that things are easy to navigate. Keep in mind, I’m still doing a LOT of back end work right now such as updating photos and creating new archives but the overall look is pretty much put together.

The other reason I’ve been feeling so pretty is because I’ve been using Pretty Mommies Skin Care. Pretty Mommies is a 3 product program that is not only made with all natural and safe ingredients, but was formulated specifically for pregnant and nursing mothers and is so safe that it is the #1 dermatologist recommended skin care line for pregnancy. Founder and creator, Gina Zeiger, suffered from acne and discoloration in her skin and set out to find a treatment that would not only be highly effective, but also made from all natural ingredients that aren’t harmful. It was just the motivation to create a line specifically for the problems we encounter with our skin during pregnancies. She was already working in the skin care industry and it was the perfect transition to creating this amazing line of products.

Step One – Cleanse

The “Let’s Be Clear” cleanser is formulated to deal with hormonal acne breakouts. It also deals with clarity, tone and texture of your overall complexion. I love that it also removes my makeup super easily due to the natural exfoliant so I really don’t even need to pre-wash my face like I have had to with cleansers I’ve used in the past. All you have to do is wet your face with warm water, lather on and rinse. I like to use mine while I’m in the shower so I can be sure I’ve thoroughly rinsed.

Ingredients (from Pretty Mommies site): Purified Water (Aqua), Sodium Olivate, Vegetable Glycerin, Lactic Acid, Rosa Rubiginosa (Rose Hip) Seed Oil, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Aspalathus Linearis (Red Tea) Extract, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Extract, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Citrus Sinensis (Sweet Orange) Oil.

Step Two – Brighten

“Truth Be Told” not every expecting mama experiences the amazing glow that we all think of from the movies. Thankfully, we’ve got Truth Be Told to help brighten, hydrate and soothe irritated skin and help even out your complexion. It can even help to repair sun damage. This product contains nourishing and hydrating ingredients that promote collagen and elastin production.  Apply a thin layer and allow to dry before applying step three.
Ingredients: Purified Water (Aqua), Vegetable Glycerin, Citrus Aurantium Sinensis ( Orange) Fiber, Ethyl Macadamiate, Squalane, Rosa Rubiginosa (Rose Hip) Seed Oil, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Aspalathus Linearis (Red Tea) Extract, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Extract, Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Ascorbyl Glucoside, Tricholoma Matsutake ( Mushroom) Extract, Glucose, Lactoperoxidase, Glucose Oxidase, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Citrus Sinensis (Sweet Orange) Oil.

Step Three – Protect

Protect your skin with “Protect & Reflect” which acts as a sunscreen with spf 30 and has a 22.5% non-nano zinc oxide level. Plus, it goes on clear so you don’t end up with the white streaks left from applying and protects against both UVA & UVB rays which are harmful to our skin and cause damage. Even if you live in an area that you don’t think gets a lot of sun, just be warned that sun damage from a reflective surface such as all the snow we get here in Idaho, can actually be much worse.

Active Ingredient: Zinc Oxide 22.5% (non-nanoparticle)

Other Ingredients: Spring Water, Vegetable Glycerin, Organic Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Organic Rosa Canina (Rose Hip) Fruit Oil, Caprylic Capric Triglyceride (coconut derived), Organic Camelia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Glyceryl Stearate (coconut derived), Organic Olea Europaea (Extra Virgin Olive) Fruit Oil, Hydrolyzed Jojoba Esters, Stearic Acid, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Methylcellulose, Organic Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Organic Buriti (Mauritia Vinifera) Fruit Oil, Organic Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Xanthan Gum, Caprylyl Glycol, Potassium Sorbate, Ethylhexyl Glycerin, Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Citrate.

I really encourage you to visit the site because they actually list out each ingredient and talk about the benefits of using it and their origins.

I can’t really tell you how much better I feel about myself after using Pretty Mommies. Before I started using it, I was getting cystic acne and constant breakouts from all the crazy hormonal changes. I was finding myself needing concealer and makeup to keep it covered and felt embarrassed when we would go out in public because I had no idea if people noticed or not. As someone who hardly even wears makeup anymore, it was also just making me feel cake-y having to use as much makeup as I was and as we know, makeup can be a vicious cycle that actually worsens skin conditions due to the various chemicals, fragrances, and what not that you find even in the products marked “organic” or “natural”.

Pretty Mommies is easy to use, shows obvious results quickly, and even smells great! Although it is targeted towards pregnant and nursing mothers, really anyone can benefit from using the line and I definitely recommend that you check it out.
