How is it possible that we are already at week 28?! I swear this pregnancy is going by so much faster than when I was pregnant with Natalia. I think it’s because I have her to keep me busy, which is great. I’m also super excited because around Christmas I had two sister in laws announce that they’re also expecting!! One her third and the other her first.
My sister in law, Adri is expecting their first and I’m so hoping she’ll turn out to be a crunchy mama like me. Is that too selfish?
I know she’s interested in baby wearing, breastfeeding and even talked once about wanting to go through midwives in the future. I’m really hoping I can interest her in cloth diapering as well because I know how amazing it has been for us and although I don’t cloth diaper to save money, it would be so nice for them on a student budget. Especially since I would easily help her make their stash and save even more money.
Well, we’re officially in the third trimester! Baby is measuring about 15 inches from head to toe and weighing in around 2 1/2 pounds. At this point in time, baby is developed and will be spending the duration of the pregnancy gaining weight and putting on some layers of fat. Neurons in the baby’s brain are also developing and she can now have her own dreams. That sure explains all the movement I keep feeling all night. Plus, it’s about that time in the pregnancy for her to start moving into position for birth. Unfortunately, this also means she’s putting pressure on my bladder and sending me on potty breaks much more frequently than before.
I have to say, I’m getting so excited for Natalia to be a big sister. She got a baby doll for Christmas and she is the cutest little mommy I’ve ever laid my eyes on. She picks her baby up slowly, hugs her close and pats her back while gently shushing her. She then lays her down on a pillow and tucks her in with a blanket all before pretending to brush her hair aside to kiss her baby’s head. If that’s not the perfect big sister in the making folks, I really don’t know what is. Today I even saw her holding her baby doll and :reading” her a story, which really consists of her flipping through a scrapbook I made of our wedding. I’m so proud of the little girl we’ve raised so far and I’m anxious to see how that evolves when another is thrown into the mix.
I also wanted to share some photos from a fun photo session I did at 18 weeks. I was fortunate enough to be chosen for a Mommy Makeover where the local Paul Mitchell Academy provided hair makeovers and makeup and a local photography student put on a photo shoot. It was such a nice feeling to be pampered and being in photography myself, I’m almost always behind the lens and don’t get many photos that I’m actually proud of that are of myself.

Congrats on the makeover, you look wonderful! No, my pregnancies seemed to take forever, because I had to inject blood thinners daily to prevent stroke. I wish they went fast!
